This cheap and easy to use tool may help someone out there who is working on their wiring. I used this today to quickly "unlock" and remove four male spade connectors from their protective plastic housings on my foglight wiring harness.

It is simply a short length of 1/16 in. hollow brass bar stock that can be purchased at most hardware stores. I smucked one end with a hammer to flatten it. Slip this flat end into the protective housing so that it slides over the locking tab. Twist it slightly while pulling gently on the wire. It will flatten the tab and the wire should pull out easily.

You think we're all so loaded with cash that we can afford a hammer? dry.gif

That is a nice tool. Didn't know it was out there. Thanks for the information.

Seriously saved my bacon when I was building a Microsquirt harness. Covers all the stock pins on the 914 plus Weatherpack, Metripack, and some Deutsch.

If you're deep into Deutsch, buy these two as well, though with your tool and the $6.49 tool you can manage:

The all metal Deutsch pin tools are way better than the plastic 'one-time' pin removers that come with the connectors. Couple those with an HDT-48 crimper and some machined pins (yeah...I know...budget blown...) and you're cooking with gas. laugh.gif
