Later 911s had electronic speedos which match the Look of the 914 gauges. The 911 speedo has the pulses per mile stamped on the side of the can.
If the Boxster signal output doesn’t match the speedo, you can get a Vss converter to make it work.
Or use a programmable speedo, if you’re going with non-Porsche gauges. Either way, you can use the Boxster signal and use whatever tire size you want.
In my case, the Porsche electronic speedo matched up with the Audi 01e VSS; works perfect. For the PCM to bump idle when AC is switched-on, and the radiator fans to off when +40 MPH, I added a GM VSS and reluctor mounted to the CV.
