Unfortunately, looks like I won't be able to make it anymore.

On the red devil, it went to a really nice guy in San Diego. he was vaguely familiar with World and I encouraged him to join up for info and fun rides.

On the Rally, I seem to remember a Boxster or two being allowed to tag along. Is this still the case and if so, at what time is arrival in Idlewild anticipated? I might drive to Palm Springs, stay overnight, then drive up to see the gang............. Just a thought.

However, if real Porsches are not allowed, I fully understand......

I see moving out of California and getting rid of your 914 has not softened you one bit.

Last year when we did this we arrived at Mountain Center Cafe around 11 or 11:30.

I will try to move a few things around to get out of AZ Friday and hit Mountain Center around that time if all goes well.

Yes @forrestkhaag , I’m driving 986 this saturday and for the last few drives with our SoCal group. So, are you coming here to SoCal to join this saturday? Your buddy Larmo will be joining too except not sure which of his 911 he will be driving.

Can we firm up an address where we will meet for the geographically impaired people like myself?

I think that Keith, Franz, Taylor, and me will meet at the Denny's/Sand Canyon spot at 6:30 on Burt Road, head out the 241 to meet the group.

I'm not clear where we meet these folks?

For the LA, OC, SB, RS Teeners we will meet up next to the McDonalds parking lot “same as last year” 1215 Magnolia Ave Corona at 7am with a leave time no later then 7:30am.


For the SD Teeners and close by RS Teeners the main meet up spot will be the parking area behind the Mobil gas Station 4730 CA 76. 8:30am

We will start the drive at Approx 9am leaving 4730 CA 76
Head east on the 76 with a photo shoot at Pala casino if it looks cool ??
76 to the 79 towards Warner Springs. Stop there for break. Approx 45 miles.
Continue to the 371 to the 74 to Idyllwild “ Mountain center cafe” for lunch. Approx 55 miles.
Total miles from main meet spot is 100 miles.
Bring chairs and pack lunch if you want or eat at the cafe.


Route maps will be handed out at the main meet up spot at Hwy 15 and Hwy 76

Not to throw a wrench into the South OC drivers, but since it currently is just @Larmo63 , @914Toy and @Caymini , would you prefer to head south along the coast and cut inland at Camp Pendleton (76) instead of going up and around to Corona and then back south? It shaves about 30 miles off the 95 mi. "get to the start" drive. We could meet up somewhere in San Clemente, like the Outlets?

I’m going to make a nice table out of it!! Just kidding!!
I will eventually sell it after I prep the 3.6. Could be a month. Really dumb…. In the past year I spent over $5k on my 3.2 motor, resealing the cam chain covers, new ramps, new fan shroud and 175 amp alternator for AC. Car runs better than it ever has, but I dumped my stocks from my last job and the money was burning a hole in my pocket.

Hi, I would like to join the oc south county group. Where and when are we meeting to head down?

It's only a 40+ mile trip (shorter than I thought) so we can meet at 7:30 and leave at 7:45 and still be there at the main meet by 8:30.

This is an open call to others in Orange County coming in from Coast, let us know if we should look for any more to meet up in San Clemente before heading to the Mobile station meet up at 15 and 76.

Time change is good for me.

The problem with the later leaving time is that we are going to run into the Cars and Coffee line at the Outlets.

Just saying.

Earlier might be better.

How about 1/2 hour earlier arriving and leaving - more time at next stop to BS.

C&C-SC doesn't start 'til 9 and while line up is before that, we would be out an hour before the que gets too out of control. That being said, I have not been to C&C SC in the last couple of months, so I don't know how the traffic has increased with the closure of C&C Crystal Cove. If we want, we can move the meet point one exit (2 miles) north to Camino Estrella at the Shell station. It is right off the freeway at the southbound on-ramp/off-ramp, if everyone is okay with that?

Great to get together with old friends and of course their 914's. Thx to Greg for organizing the drive whitch took in drivers from 3 counties. My car had her maiden voyage and her first shake down cruise. I had 285 miles on the car when Rudy aka @Curbandgutter and I began our journey this morning. I never punched it because I heard a noise from the right 1/2 shaft that concerned me. Later I began to lose fuel pressure and babied it into Mountain Center. When we departed Mountain Center I told Rudy I would kill the ignition we would coast down the mountain to give the fuel pump a rest. What a spirited descent that was with the wind noise as the only indication of our speed. Wow that car corners well! Thx for riding it out w/o a single complaint Rudy.

Amazing weather blue sunny skies slight cool breeze what a perfect day. Driving with Kent was an experience. When he tells me, hey “ hey I’m shuttin down the car and we’ll just coast down hill” I’ll be honest I was kind of spooked. When he shut the ignition, I was thinking that it could possibly lock up in mid curve. You know with it being a 50 year old switch and all But I just held on an went for a ride down the mountain not hill, Kent. Wow, that car can handle. We made it all the way down a good 5 miles I would think on gravity power. Kent was hitting those apexes perfectly. That 914 was on rails pulling major g’s. I had forgotten what amazing handling cars these little guys are. The whole thing was a blast. The guys in the group, unpretentious good guys just enjoying their cars. The females were just as much into the cars as the guys. Can you believe it got to see Eric’s car. Wow what art work. Also Chris with that white beauty. Kent mentioned that it was a good thing Chris changed his front lenses from the clear ones cause it looked like a guy that shaved his eyebrows. good times. Thanks @76-914 for letting me tag along. Thanks guys for coordinating this. Great route choice.
