I need to replace the trailing arm bushings. These are pressed in to the trailing arm, correct? The bushings are not listed as an item on the PET, it just notes that the trailing arm comes with the bushings. 914rubber doesn't seem to have them. Pelican does (https://www.pelicanparts.com/More_Info/993015335.htm?pn=99-3015-335-M523&SVSVSI=5874&DID=12870), but they are the ones I'm told squeak over time. Is there another source for these? I need a part number as well, unless the Pelican part number (Part #: 99-3015-335-M523) is correct.

What is involved in replacing these? I'm assuming I need to remove the rear trailing arms, which involves removing the brake lines, the e-brake, wheels, etc. Anything else I should look out for? I have a friend who has a press for getting the bearings in and out. Any special tools needed? Thanks!

I got mine from 914Rubber. I replaced shafts as well, but I have not installed either yet...

If you want to replicate the OEM bushings, bite the bullet and get Elephant Racing's rubber bushings. I tried 914Rubber's rubber bushings but they did not fit right. Just to be clear, 914R has sold at least two versions of bushing, but last time I looked, it was a little tricky to tell which was which from their web site.. Their polyurethane bushings fit well but are not rubber like OEM, and their rubber bushings came undersized for my car. In contrast, their front A-arm bushings fit great and seem a good replacement for OEM.

Installing the Elephant Racing bushings wasn't too terribly difficult using a pipe clamp and plenty of soap for lube. You can read about my installation here:

I researched this quite a bit too, Padawan . . .go with Elephant racing . . .not always easy to get a quote for just the bushings (if you know someone with the installation kit - which you'll want to use) . . .I finally got a quote of $200-ish for just the bushings around a year ago . . .took a little bit of persuasion though as I recall.

Yep. I just emailed them and they got back to me right away. $200 for the bushings alone and if you need the install tools, another $80.

You can turn the tools on your lathe and save $80.

don't forget you need a 4 wheel alignment when you are finished...

Have you or any others reading this post looked at or tried the Elephant Poly-Bronze trailing arm set-up?

Some of the reviews look good, but ...

They look to be excellent but overkill for my street needs. Same goes for their control arm bushings. I would expect the ride wouldn't be as smooth on rough surfaces though. I'm also unaware if they have grease fittings or require lubricating occasionally.
