IMHDO (In My Humble Design Opinion)

Finally test fitted the Recaro seat, pd wheel, and Boxster shifter combination. The rest of the interior will follow these three design elements. Simple, not too organic shapes, and of course Porsche Design parts. My challenge will be to tie the roll cage, door panels, and fixed seat ala early 914-6 with these parts. The Boxster shifter may give way to a simpler knob and longer shaft as I don't want to mount it up higher on a console. The knob and boot shape don't quite "fit".

McMark modified the GT3 mounts or made his own. Ask him about it if you're interested in a set.

Notice the Engmans longs stiff kit welded? I decided to remove the bolt in roll cage but then again it will be at TC Design soon...

I'm working on a longer shifter for the Boxster. Every open wheel car known to man (and all the new Porsche factory race cars) have the shifter just to the right of the steering wheel. I'm going after a replacement shifter for the Boxster and 996 that is TALL.

That's my plan too! I'm not going to mount the cable shifter up high on a console so I need an extension plus the formed knob and boot don't go well with my interior. I also like the B&M machined parts but it's probably impractical to leave them exposed.

Let me know when it's available...

We are working on the engineering. We dont want the short throw, but will have to do something because of the length.

FYI: NO factory Porsche race car has come with a short shifter.

What are you using for a pedal cluster? I think everything hydraulic would be cool... Wilwood stuff... Thats what Im thinking for my car...

Bought it from George K in Switzerland (guy who "found" an 911 RSR.) The wheel is a very rare Porsche design produced by MOMO in the 80's. Simple round spoke design.

How's the Renault gearbox? I still need to scan the manual for you.

Wow !!! I have to say that steering wheel is cool. Usually I don´t like very much aftermarket steering wheels. I like the original design. But, that wheel I would chace to my 914 without any question if it were mine.

Oh, my Renault box. Have done some measurements, but nothing else. Hope to have more time.
