So I'm in process of collecting parts and info for my 914 restomod. Going with a sbf with boxster s 6 speed and 911 suspension/brakes.
One of the details I'm trying to sort out is the church actuation for the boxster s gear box. Anyone have a good source for what pedal cluster and hydraulic bits work best? I will be using a manual throttle cable.

Ford?

Either go with a tilton/wilwood floor mount or modify your existing system with a hydraulic clutch. Someone makes a bracket for mounting a master through the body but its not that complicated.

993 pedal assembly

I looked at that.. too much modification to the floorpan to make it work.

Sorry, i guess if forgot that my car has a 993 floor pan in that section. From what i remember they looked very similar.

This page has pictures of the later version of the pedal box.

I built it with a 964 master and a Cayman slave. There is no way to mount a Cayman master on the 914 pedal box.

Now it has a Cayman slave, and a Wilwood Master. The Wilwood master was necessary to get the correct bore size to match the Cayman slave. The reservoir is from a 924S.

1991. But it doesn't match the Cayman slave cylinder. So it won't disengage the clutch.

Absolutely!

We don't see sbf swaps because they are huge and don't fit. You might want to test fit before committing to the pricey adapter kit.

Not true. 302 ford with coil on plug and remote mount water pump is shorter than ls....the ls conversions move the transmission back...to clear the fire wall....which is what I'm going to do. Additionally I'm moving the mount for the rear trailing arm back to achieve appropriate cv angle of operation....

Actually it looks like a remote water pump and distributor less ignition should squeeze in OK.
I just want to get to drive a Pord smile.gif

Now that I think about it more, the problem was the front mount dizzy in the drivers shoulder.
You should be good with 100mm cv's, it's not the angle that's the problem.

So I am not up on the cv joint tech.....which ones tolerate more angle?

My Kep sbf to boxster s adapter arrived. Its barely 1 inch thick. Should make fitting the small ford V8 even easier.

Looking good. What made you decide to go with KEP over some of the other options?

What axles are you planning on using?

Kep has a great reputation. Not aware of anyone else that does better. With boxster s 6 speed i am leaning toward renegades axles.

Check out the specific prepped ProAm 930 CV joints, good for deep plunging angle use; from McKenzie.com
We assembled ours on to Sway-Away 300m alloy floating style axles, and lubed with Krytox brand grease.
Going into use on our v8 build, which has non-stock angles.
