Full Version: Porsche 914 / 914-6 Service Providers

Inspired by @JeffBowlsby Online Parts Resource post I thought a service supplier thread might be useful too. This list is focused on folks that provide specialized services (i.e. expertise and labor) for things like restoring and refurbishing parts, machine work, rebuilds, etc. It's not meant to cover general service / maintenance shops.

I suspect this list could get unwieldily quick. There are probably a thousand machine shops in the US for example. So I’ll suggest we restrict this list to folks that specialize in 914 / 914-6 or at least air-cooled Porsche.

I’m pivoting from a 356 project to trying to find suppliers for 914-6 related work. I have some great 356 resources, but not all of them will work on other models. So I am back to rebuilding my connections and bookmark list for 914-6 anyway.

Sorry if I overlooked anyone in this initial draft. I will add to it as I get new sources and time allows. Please include a link to the applicable party if you want me to add someone. Feel free to add to the list as replies if I am not responding quick enough.

DISCLAIMER: I can only have firsthand experience with a handful of these companies. I am not vetting the organizations put on this list. Your experience may vary, etc.

Do they have a website? I'm having trouble finding a link.

Oil line kits

Consider titling this thread:

Porsche 914 Service Providers

Then if these two threads get nailed, the are easily distinguishable - one is parts, one is services.

This thread is a huge topic and location of provider will be essential, unlike my online resources thread.

Be sure to add Arno Weinands shop:

I thought that I had titled it:
914 / 914-6 Service Providers

Am I missing something? I can add the word "Porsche".

Hrm. I am not trying to step on what @JeffBowlsby has done. I was trying to compliment it. In my mind, they are two unique things:
  1. Parts (i.e. goods)
  2. Services (i.e. labor)
I've asked a lot of questions on here, and was just trying to contribute something worthwhile. If it is confusing or not helpful, the admins should pull the post. I don't want to muddy the waters.

Interesting point. I had gotten so used to having to ship parts to specialized folks all over the US for refurbishing that I didn't take that into account. I've started adding some city locations to the list.

Unfortunately, it doesn't look like the version of BB Code this forum uses will allow tables. Would have made it a bit more work, but easier to read.

No website very old school, the recommendation came from Capt Crusty.
I’ll look for my paperwork.

Thanks for the names. I've added the ones where I could find their website and what service they provide.
