The incoming rainstorm didn't magically change it's path as I had hoped. It's due to rain all day tomorrow, so both drives have been cancelled.

6PM: Group dinner at Desperate Times Brewery

Come to town the day before the 2023 swap meet to spend some time with fellow 914 world members.

Engine pre-swap started last weekend when I took the engine lid off. Goal is to have the new engine in and adjusted by Hershey. Looking forward to the pre-gaming activities.

The Knights Inn is pretty far away from Carlisle PA where the current swap meet is held. I kinda doubt it will move back to Hershey (which I personally feel is a shame).

I miss Hershey. I need to check out the new location and that is my birthday weekend starting Thursday. I will give it some thought. I sure will miss Underdog's wings though.

Stayed at the Econo Lodge last year. The price was good but it is RIGHT off the exit of I 81 and was VERY noisy.

Trucks with Jake brakes coming off the highway all night.

don't recommend it but only for that reason.

We are staying at Homewood Suites by Hilton. I think the suite we got is a little over $200.00 but we have room for all of us 5 people. Grandkids are coming. Got to start them young. We will be at the dinner!

Looks like I will be attending this year as a birthday trip. I also need to pick up my birthday gift. Not sure if I will have a car with me or not. Probably not. Original plan was to drive my '75 up, but now I need to haul something so who knows.

I am trying hard to get the new 3.2ss there. I have to drop engine, install engine tin, install setrab oil thermostat, make windshield washers work. Put some kind of oil catch system because oil tank is up front and breather hose was run over roll cage. Change out steering wheel shaft and I'm sure a few more things. Fingers crossed.

No, just a plain ol ride up in either my truck or Cayenne. Birthday dinner at Underdogs on Thursday night. Meet up with 914 folks on Friday. Leave Monday morning to come home. Traveling solo this year with only 1 side trip planned to pick up my birthday gift. I am booked at the Comfort Suites Downtown with an extra bed if anyone needs a place to crash.

Well, I'm likely out.

Amy is getting another surgery a few days before this on the 25th. So I'll probably be back in nurse mode. Will be her third surgery in 2 months. We found out that she needed this go-around while she was in recovery from her surgery last Tuesday, and then yesterday they said they wanted it done ASAP.

@hot_shoe914 I'll try to sneak out Thursday for dinner though. I just need to make sure someone will be home to take care of Amy. And I expect you to drop by the house and say hello!

So we just booked round trip flights and a hotel, and we are flying in on the afternoon of the 28th.


You gotta love a woman that loves 914s as much as you do!

It is a great show. 500+ Porsches or so.. Mostly newer cars but a few old ones show up and represent.

We have been there before, back when it was still at Hershey park. We took the weekend and rode all the roller coasters there as well.

We even figured out that you can take anything you buy to Office depot and ship it home to ourselves. Although the people there kinda give you the evil eye when you walk in with a bunch of greasy car parts and want them to package and ship them.

We are looking forward to seeing everyone.

Bob, thanks for organizing this event! I'll be joining for lunch and the drives, but can't stay for the dinner. I'll be driving home and then back up Saturday morning for the swap meet. Look forward to seeing everyone again.

The weather looks terrible for Friday. I'll keep an eye on things and make a judgement call later in the week.

Dinner is still on and I'm working on a plan B for the day.

I hope I am doing this right. I've been using computers since the early 80's and 914world has the most confusing application I've ever dealt with! Hopefully I've stumbled on the correct response.

Anyhow, I will be joining your event on Friday. Due to the inclement weather predicted at this point I have changed my plans and will be bringing my Colorado pickup rather than the NEW914-6 Boxster.
