Hi,

I just got this 2.0 with dual carbs. While examining the engine bay area. I see this wire coming out of the hole in the tin that covers the head. It's not connected and just hanging there. Where does that plug in and is it a head temp wire?
I can't seem to see where that would connect to. And if it doesn't have to connect anywhere. Should I tape off the end so there is no short?

Thanks!!!!! I posted some pics.

Tuck it away. It is not used or needed with carbs.

Excellent. Thanks for the help and advice. I know that the car had a Ljet maybe before the carbs. Would it of been used at that time ?
Thanks,

Yes. It is an important part of the fuel injection system. D-Jet used basically the same thing for the same reason--to see when the engine was cold or when it was warmed up.

Your car being a 73 may have the very desirable (unique) CHT sensor.
And no, you don’t need it with carbs
