Running a 2056 with 1.8L L-Jet fuel injection. AFR is set at 13.1. MPG is around 20 miles per gallon. Does this look right?

Thats about what I used to see as well.

I'm sure it could be tuned for more economy at the expense of power.

Is this in town MPG?

My 2056 with twin 40 IDF's gets a bit over 30MPG at 75MPH highway. No idea what the AFR is, plugs look ok. Funny I have a new LM-2 in the box, can't figure out how to get it going

agree.gif At idle On standard 1.8 FI. Planning on changing our nearly original injectors and checking/adjusting valves (many years overdue) to lean a bit further (running 10.0-12.0) at rpm. Might tweak the AFM a bit more but pretty near point where it hasn’t helped.

That plug looks nice to me. Where is your o2 sensor?

I get almost 20 in town and 28ish on the highway but I drive like gas doesn't matter in town. I can't help it ... Maybe 270 miles on 13 gallons (I don't trust my fuel gauge yet so I always fill up as it drops below 1/4 tank).

On my 2056 djet I am at 14.2ish cruising and between 11-12 on WOT. My O2 is right after the 3 and 4 combine in my ansa (before the muffler).
Geezer914
My 02 sensor is in my Triad muffler.

Looks good. I wouldn't go any leaner.

Exactly, I like to see my plugs darker. Detonation is one of the worst events that can happen in an engine

Interesting, I’m running the same setup. Also right around that AFR# and very similar mileage numbers. I always thought it would be a little better but I’m willing to sacrifice mpg’s for engine longevity.

It’s not a DD so I live with it beerchug.gif
Geezer914
Sacrificing some mpg for performance. 20mpg and it's a blast to drive, I can't complain.

Could be better. A stock 2.0FI is like 25-30. My 3.0FI was 24-29 mpg @ 90 mph.
Geezer914
I am running Len Hoffman RS heads with larger valves and a 50 mm throttle body, so not as efficient as a stock 2.0.
emerygt350
I mean, theoretically... You are moving the same weight so it shouldn't take more fuel unless you are driving it inefficiently. I know I am. Just try and miser your 2056 around. I just can't do it. I am always reaching into the throttle....
Geezer914
I try to keep the RPMs above 3K as much as possible.

Exactly

Air + gas = HP. I've got 190 hp & 205 tq and get 24 mpg around town. Granted I don't have to push as hard to be fast, but it's still a formula that is consistent. A non-track car doesn't need the cooling effect of running that rich.
