What is the finish on the sway bar drop links for the front and the back? This is for a LE car if that makes any difference

Sorry for the post I found the answer. I should have researched first. What I found was front drop links are cad plated and the rear is painted.

Will have to check mine; maybe just the grime on my fronts!

i have factory sway bars.
original. 74 1.8 with front and rear sway bars.
we pulled it all out and rebushed everything 4 years ago.
no evidence i could see that front drop links were cad plated.
rear links were same as front links.
both painted.
front links were blasted with original corrosion undercoating.
we cleaned all that off.
you would think cad plating would be preserved under that.
saw no evidence of any cad plating.
repainted everything black during rebuild process.

Confusion comes from the replacement parts. They were sold with yellow cad plating like the 911 parts. The same problem you run into now with the replacement parts from Porsche where the originals were painted gray and the replacements are black.

Oem was black paint.
