I nominate @scallyk9 's Bumblebee as we are nearing the 50th anniversary of the LE. Gorgeous example that just spent the last year as part of a Porsche 75th Anniversary exhibit at the LeMay museum in Tacoma, WA.

I missed going to the exhibit. Somehow it fell off my radar until the day after it ended.

I may be biased, but I'll second that nomination.

As both are worthy, let’s put up the 914 that is more rare and most original.

Let’s put up the one that’s unique and interesting.

However, it ain't the 50th anniversary of a modified high budget 914-6 build. Bob's car is awesome, and having met him, and bought a car from him, Bob is the salt of the earth, and both he and his car are worthy of accolades, but in terms of historical significance this really isn't a contest....And if we have to be picky about being unique, there were far more -6's built than LE's.

Having seen Bobs -6 up close, I would say it’s one of the finest 914s around and will vote for it.

I’d like to show some different 914 pics month to month. No offense to Jim but we’ve been looking at the same car for too long. I don’t think car of the month has to necessarily be a competition or vote. The members of this site have so many variations of a 914. Let’s show them on World.

Whether it's a 3-Car vote for COTM, or just getting cars lined up in a "que" of sorts to be displayed monthly, it would be great to have different cars displayed each month. Thank you Mark! BTW, no matter which way it goes, I think that campbellcj's car is another EPIC 5 star car that deserves some front page time.

I don't think there is a need for drawing out a selection with a voting process, believe mepstein will make a good benevolent dictator selection.

Whatever SirAndy decides my role is or isn’t is fine with me.

We box ourselves into a corner by setting the expectation that this is car of the month. When the month is done then the old men in the balcony start griping.

How about we call it "914 World Featured 914" or "Home page 914" or similar to not set an expectation of time?

I vote for Bob B's car; it is quite stunning.

And why not feature cars in progress? That could be interesting and "outside" observers might be drawn into something that inclusive?

Let mepstein run it how he wants without rules...

He's a "Big Dog" and most members will support him. I will!

One rule should be "No pestering mepstein about what you'd like to see".

I'm in agreement, cars that should be shown, not just the perfect beauty queens.

Both of Tygaboy's cars should be candidates even though they look ghetto.

A trial run of something different can't hurt, would be good to see some of the other amazing cars on here.

Elect a COM caretaker and give him freedom to set his rules. Elections could be held every 6 months (although I have a feeling this will quickly get pushed to every year..,or more…).
