I found a hole in the bottom of the tranny, where it mounts to the engine block. I have a feeling this isnt supposed to be there....Would that explain why there is oil/tranny fluid all over the underbody?? Could this damage extend into the engine?? Thanks

that is standard hole. You can see timing marks through it.

It lets the oil leaking from rear main seal out of the clutch. sad.gif

that's a drain hole.

originally intended to drain rainwater, now mostly used to drain oil from a leaking tranny input shaft seal or a rear main engine seal ...

The tranny also has two larger holes on top of it - water could concievably get in thru these top breather holes. Jim
