I have decided on my next 914 project. I am going to try to replicate a Porsche 914 police car. The photos I have are all black and white and I have yet to find any interior shots.

If anyone has any or can find any photos please post them. I will be posting a full step by step of the recreation Polizei 914. Thanks in advance for any guidance.

i can get you some pics once i get home from work.

the dark parts are green as police cars in germany are green/white.

here's a good color match for the green.
note that contemporary german police cars use a lighter green ...

is it just me, or does that decal look familiar....do they have Krispy Kreme in Germany? biggrin.gif

Was the 914 actually put into service with the police?

If so, how did it fair?

yes, it was. as far as i know it was used by the "Autobahn Polizei" ...

i guess that would be the equivalent of the CHP here in Kalifornia ...

yeah, different number too. they must have had at least 2 with the same setup. the model shows number 44, your picture actually shows number 43 ...

You have to get one of those euro sirens! haha, that will make it complete.
I am sure some of the european 914 bros can help locate some of this stuff for you. popcorn[1].gif

The Chandler, AZ police department has an electric 914 on their force - just a novelty though. Wish I had a pic.

A good friend of mine just recently bought one (of two) original Police 914/6
It needs a full resto and he's planning to bring it back to the exact Police specs
The second car is in the Dutch Police Museum

Greg, just remember to have your text decals to say "POLIZEI" instead of "Police". Otherwise, big trouble! unsure.gif

Lots of good stuff. I love all the pics for sure. Of course, stating the obvious, most of these pics are of models. Does anyone have any pics of the real thing? The hardest part to figure out is going to be the interior I think.
Gustl
I've little time now, but someone could do a search
IIRC we had more "real life 914 Police car pics" in a post in the past

a couple of 'em are in this book:

Gustl
here is a larger version of the pic Greg posted first

I'm sure that I've a little mag article about 20 914-4 for the Police - maybe I find it the next days

I heared a rumor that most of the german police cars were sold to Japan, when they got sorted out ...
