I thought it would be a good idea for everyone to post what they intend to do before the wcc, and as then accomplish it, come back and cross out what they have finished, and when they finished it!

So.. Heres a thread!

Try to find out if I still have a warrant out for my arrest in the state of OR.

Rebuild engine - In progress.
Body and paint.
Re-upolster seats.
New door panels.
5 lug conversion.
Replace windshield wiper assembly on steering column.

I will settle for the rebuild, 5 lug conversion and door panels.

Lesse.. Mine is a little long..

Exterior
Finish flares
fit and finish rear f/g bumper
make custom mirrors
make lexan rear spoiler
make custom front hood venting for radiator w/ shrouding
plastic filler/ prep body
primer
paint

Interior
Install carpet
Install Engman Long kit
make and install custom braces.
fabricate seat rails for racing seats
install shifter bushing kit
install dead pedal
get radio to work (2 years baby...)
Install fire extinguisher.

Suspension

Install/ fabricate front NASCAR sway bar
Replace bearings if worn
bleed brakes (yet, again)
Install rear koni yellows with 275 rear springs (ebay )
Powder coat wheels
Align

Engine

Teardown and check for problems. Fix them...
build and install heads
fabricate oil cooler shrouding for front.
Run lines and install oil cooler
New exhaust system (long tube headers, magnaflow and glasspack)
3+ hours on the dyno tuning with Holley Pro Jection.
Get bigger injectors if needed.

Just a few things...

Hmm... did this on my blog.

Within the next month or two I will:
-Increase displacement from 1.8L to 1911 with a 96mm P&C kit, bump the compression.
-Install a lightened flywheel (12 or 13 lbs).
-Install new chromoly pushrods.
-Install a pair of refurbed stock 2.0 heads.
-This should make for a sweet fast-revving 1911cc, still usable with my L-Jet (read: low investment cost, good power gains).
-Re-do my door panels with some GT look... smooth with only window winder and door latch.
-Weld in rear-trunk hinge console to have a closing trunk.

Within the next three to four months I will:
-Do some bodywork (new panels, fill some holes).
-Remove the wheel-well fender lips (clean-shaven).
-Change the wheel well openings from square-ish to round... who the hell makes square wheels? No need for flares (yet).
-New front and rear trunk seals ($KA-CHING$)
-Shave 200lbs by gutting my rubber bumpers, fabbing some custom aluminum mounts with a series of rivets, bolts, washers, and aluminum sheetmetal.
-PAINT IT A PRIMARY MATCHING COLOR. Contemplating a "Stripe" clone, but 2 of them with some metallic blue?

Within the next five months:
-New windshield.
-Wash it.

Purchase and Install Stereo Deck and Speakers.

Fix the darty feeling that shows up at about 105

Minor trans rebuild

Strip undercoat, and repaint underbody white.

Weld in front trunk floor

move oil cooler up front

Hook up all guages

Suspension/Brakes:
Install Carrera front suspension
Install new trailing arms and rear shocks
Install larger rear brakes

Engine:
Hookup Tach
speedometer
boost guage
oil temp/pressure
install intercooler and route plumbing from turbo
fabricate custom exhaust

Thankfully, I have Dana from Renegade to basically do all of this work while I am at my job.

Everything but paint?

(new flared roller, has paint but needs everything else)

Change the oil.
Maybe put the roof on.
Wash and wax.

how big you thinking?

(Sigh)... will it all happen? We'll see.

1) sell the M3 so the 914 will recapture my attention. It's being neglected.
2) Install the SC flares & front arches (both raised slightly. It'll look great. I hope.)
3) fix the boost-creep problem I'm having (wastegate isn't keeping up?)
4) track wheels/tires - don't want to autocfross on street tires any more.
5) PAINT

6) attend WCC

7) post WCC: remove turbo typeIV and replace with something with 300+ hp.

Geez, I have a list........

Set up Saturday touring event: Monarch to Timberline lodge, lunch and photo op , lies swapping , with Mt. Hood background. Timberline to Edgefield Brewery . Then back to Monarch for the awards banquet. Whew, big day!!

Car stuff:
Rear brakes installed after Eric Shea finishes rebuild
3.2 Motronic Motor installed
915 LSD tranny built and installed, might need to do something with the half shafts?
Need /6 headers and muffler
Tires

Then make it all work.........................hopefully before a/x season.........

1: Put on street tires
2: Wash car
3: Replace pass side targa seal
4: Drive to LAX in SUV
5: Arr PDX, borrow car from Craig

1: Install heater components
2: Mount the rocker panels the right way so they don't fall off
3: Check fluids
4: Wash wax
5: Back with as many tools and spare parts as I can and hope for the best

Looking forward to seeing allyou guys in person for the first time. WCC Is gona be a blast.

Have Bontempi adjust valves and change oil, check car for long trip....pack wine and cheese....then they'll think I have a 6... Maybe new bumper tops and a flasher setup....and maybe a windshield washer system...Pacific NW...yeah, that's it....windshield washer system...electric..yeah, that's the ticket....buy Tequila...don't want to arrive empty handed at Joe's trailer....

Buy a new 914 with everything done to it........

Buy a trailer to tow the 914 to the WCC.............

Buy a new truck to pull the trailer.............


Or

finish the 68 Impalla and use that to tow a 914 Westward

Biggest question is which 914 to bring? Smokey or Dallas

Let's see, pretty simple,

1) Get car back from paint
2)Put everything back on it.

See, pretty simple.

put some sun screen and high spf protection for your lips in the glove box if you plan on making the drive sans top. skis, boots, and poles for the thursday before and a glorious day of summer skiing on the palmer snow field.

In July?

yes, most years. quite a few national teams train there during the summer, or used to. crusty first thing in the am and it can get mushy in the late afternoon, but there is a sweet spot late morning to mid-day. tee shirts, shorts, and a killer burn if you're not careful.

My list is a 5 page spreadsheet and if I posted it I'd have to hear people's comments about my sanity.
