I want a tall closer to 2nd, 1st gear.

How do you like it?
Is it easy to get rolling from a stand still? I'm getting very used to starting in 2nd, so anything has to be better. rolleyes.gif

I would think one of these tall gears would be amazing for a/x.

The "C" gear is 10 mph faster than a stock "A" @7k rpm's and the "D" is 14 cool_shades.gif

i drove mugs914's 3.0 CIS six with C GA gears...

freaking rocked. took some torque to pull it tho

and goooood luck finding them. B's and C's are 300+ and D's are uber rare and way up there....
Trekkor
I've located two C's and one D so far.
It's the $650-$800 price tag that kills me. headbang.gif

yup.....

tried otto's in addition to carquip?

also try autosport international back east......

how often would you use first?

How often do you shift into 1st during an AX? The cost of the gear and tearing apart the box to put it in, it would have to be a really big improvement to be worth it. Do you have an F or Ga mainshaft?

With a stock box, it's out of the question to downshift back into first. Crunnnnch! headbang.gif

I run an "F" main, BTW.

With the tall first, I beleive I would have the ability to trip the start lights at a higher speed and actually be able to go back into 1st if a really tight was encountered.

They are out there now and then. wink.gif
What I do now, is just fight my way through the tight stuff in 2nd in the low rpm band and then get back on the gas ASAP. I would rather be at 5-7k rpm through the entire course.

This could be the secret weapon I've been searching for. rolleyes.gif

My first gear is already gone, so it's coming apart soon anyway. I just need to decide what to do.

Yup, I did some horse-tradin' to get mine, or, well I wouldn't have one... laugh.gif

I'll ask around out here, no guarantees or anything, but someone might have one they'd let go for a little better price...

I think you would like it, but you might find you want a taller second to go with it. What do you have for second now?
Trekkor
Thanks!

I run an "F" 2nd.
It seems to be pretty good, as a lot of courses are just 2nd gear.
If I set the limiter to 7300rpm's it gets me to just under 60mph.

My 3-4-5 are M-S-X. I'm building the dream box rolleyes.gif

Okay, that'll teach me to leave the computer in the middle of posting... rolleyes.gif

A C-F will be really close, but might be just the ticket for a tight AX course.

My box is C-Ga-N-U-Zd. Primarily for street use, maybe a time trial if my resolve weakens...
