Okay, I got my car running again, but not perfectly. But, I am confused!
Everyone told me to check for vacuum leaks, which I did. I got one of the pipes
to the S boot snapped in. The other one is pretty tight anyway. Not pefectly
sealed yet. This morning, I was checking the car over. I pulled spark plug #4
and found it wet with gas?? I would have thought that the car would have been
lean with air leaks. If I had air leaks, there would be too much air. Also, the air
flow sensor would not open so the mixture would not richen? Am I missing
something? I did cap off all the lines from the air box. Anyway, I pulled the
electrical connector off the cold start valve, and tried it. It started after about
5 seconds. It ran for a minute, and then died. It would restart, but die pretty
quickly. I stopped to think about all of this. Three heat exchangers were hot, #2
was not. That plug always looked good/lean?
Maybe #2 has an injector problem? I want to fix that cylinder first. How do you
remove the injectors? I've looked but haven't found anything. Must be easy??
Do I NEED a new gasket?
Then I can work on the engine dying problem. Maybe it will idle on four
cylinders? Nah, can't be that easy!
Obviously, I will start to reconect everything to see if anything is causing a
problem, but I am excited again!
How far out should the idle screw be on the throttle body? One turn, more?
Thanks for your thoughts,
Jeff
