Well, now that the 914 is running, the electrical grimlin decided to jump aboard.
When ideling, 1200 rpm, the red alternator light comes on faintly, the fuel level sender drops to reserve, the turn signals stop working and even the tach. drops to zero. WTF.gif I checked the relays on the board and reviewed the fuses.

Stat checking your grounds all around including the straps. Also it could be your alternator itself. I have no idea if this is the source of the problem, but its a good place to start. Best of luck!

A few years ago I was having all sorts of problems. Not that things didn't work but

things were acting very funny ( not ha ha funny). So I cleaned all of the grounds

and pulled the fuse block down, marked all of the wires with numbers on tape

and drew a diagram of the block so it would be easy to hook the wires up after.

I used a liquid metal cleaner and cleaned the hell out of the fuse block. I put it

back in and low and behold everything worked like new. Best hour I had spent

on the teener in years.
