Anyone running 9x16 (930 Fuchs) rears with flares?

Did you have to install a spacer on the rear hub? If so, why?

Thanks.
SirAndy
i sure would like to see that too. still thinking about that combo.

9 x 15 (or 16 or 17) with 285/45

I have Steel GT flares on my 914. My street wheels are 15 by 7 & 8 Fuchs with 225/50/15 at all 4 corners. I run 1-in spacers up front and 1/4-in on the rear.

My track wheels (Borbet) are 16 by 8 & 9 with 225/50/16 front and 245/45/16 rear. I keep the 1-in spacers up front and use no spacers in the rear. I had to trim the inner lip of the rear flares for adequate clearance. But they fit fine.

Yeah , yeah yeah.... You gotta wait until I feel like throwing them back on again, it's cold here in NJ, there is no incentive.LOL

I'll check to see if I have a pic, if not I'll take one this weekend.

It looks really cool from the back with these tires on.

Shhhhhhhhhh... JP, that's suppossed to be a secret.

Besides, I'm gonna use PhotoShop to actualy "fit" those 9-in wheels on the 914.

I ran 245s on my 16x8s and used a one inch spacer with standard 914/6 flares.

Lots of responses, thanks... but none with my specific combo question answered... keep trying.

What is the offset for a 9/16 Fuchs ? wink.gif
Qarl
23.3 mm offset
BIGKAT_83
I'm using a 9.5/17 wheel with a 20.5mm offset and running a 255/40/17 tire.this would be about .30 inches taller than the 245/45/16 . The inside rear needs a 1" spacer. I've got less than a 1/2 inch clearance on both the inside and outside with these with the 9" flair.

Bob................The guy that sent you the gas filler neck and cap
Qarl
Ahh... thanks Bob (the gas filler cap guy!)

Karl, I have run 9X16 Fuchs with 245's, currently I have 1/2 in spacers on the car. If I trim the flares a bit I could get a 1" spacer in and get the wheels out further.

Without the spacers the wheels get lost in the wheelwells.
siverson
Yup - that's exactly what I'm running. Fuchs 16x9, steel GT flares, .5" spacer.

The spacer just clears my rear brakes (C2T), and the flares were welded up to make this fit right. You really need to get everything fit (brakes/wheels/tires) then weld up the flare where you want them. My fender had to be pulled about 3/4" out for this combo to work, then the flare was welded on.

No good pictures right now other than this. (before engine installed)

Nope, it's a shop here in downtown San Diego. I know what your talking about though. That photo was actually taken inside, it's just a very large warehouse.

16x9 bbs et15 fits with no spacers with fiberglass flares
fiid
Does that mean that these could fit??

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...item=2443340471

17x9s for the read and 17x7.5s on the front?

Would that be too much rubber? Is there such a thing??

I would probably go for like 45 series tires or something.

Fiid.

These were 17x8.5 17x7 with 32mm spacers
Brad Roberts
Greg,

I forgot to say that I have 1.5" spacers all the way around b/c the backspacing on the wheel is to big or small, depending on how you look at it.
Steve
I'm running 7x16 993 rims with 205-50-16" up front with 1" spacers.
In the rear I'm running riveted on GT fiberglass flairs with 9x16" 993 rims with 245-45-16" tires and 2 1/4" spacers.
