Curious here. ALL 914 whackos are detail oriented. Deny it if you want, but you're detail oriented.
Race? Probably more detail oriented than anyone. Ounces=lost time.
CW - nothing else needed to be said.
Restorer? see above.
But......who else has something in life besides Porsche? You do, don't you?
Family? Extremely important. Buddies? very important.
What are your non-Porsche interests?
Classic rock, contemporary rock, baloons, slot cars, ....what?
You DO have other interests, right?
Share them? Pic's are great, too.

School take up alot of my time (mechanical engineering student)
I really love mountain biking and sailing. I really wish I had some good pictures of me flying in my sunfish . . . the boat keel is always at least at a 60 degree angle to the water
The only one who consistently will ride with me is my girlfriend
I also like woodworking and all forms of construction (though most if a little forced like Chunger's).

I was just mocking up a recording studio for a friend's garage in Sketchup. Construction later this month
Needed some people in the model to get a feel for the space. . . see if it'll actually work. I thought the fighting guys were cool. Guy on the couch is smoking a fatty.

School, I'm studying EE. This takes up a huge amount of time even though I'm still just doing my lower division work.
I also like fooling about with computers and things, I run the site
http://www.thextremeresources.com The site used to be much bigger, but the old site died, and the hosting company wouldn't sell us the domain so we had to change it slightly and we've lost like 90% of our members in the transition.

I used to enjoy travel, will do so again after I get the last child thru college. I enjoy my dogs and am looking forwards to my next 914 aquisition (V8).

Most of my other interests have taken a backseat to the teener, so to speak. My wife and I race our sailboat doublehanded on SF bay. Borderline just won her class in the Three Bridge Fiasco. It's a strange race where you sail around marks at the 3 main bridges (Golden Gate, Bay, and Richmond-San rafael).
My other interests are biking, surfing (when my shoulder is feeling ok), and kayaking.

... and probably a dozen other minor things I can't think of right now.
Oh, and I like to watch TV and sleep.

Ran roadrace karts for 25 years. Won last regional championship in '02, then retired and sold everything a year later. Been in and around racing my entire life; dabbled in stock cars and dry lake stuff. Went through all the usual hobby stuff; skiing, fishing, dirt bikes (still have one), backpacking, etc. Otherwise, the 914 LS1 V8 swap is my hobby for now. It does extend into the hobby/skill stuff like designing and machining, fabrication and welding. Too old to chase women any more (well I can chase, but what do I do if I catch one?), but did that ever classify as a hobby?

Wow, what a diverse group with a great common denominator (914’s).
For fun I sail (cruse and race) in beautiful Narragansett bay and RI sound. I’ve also done some blue water sailing on classic yachts (12-meter Gleam).
I am also a musician (there’s a lot of us on this forum) and play lead guitar in a kick-ass classic rock band. We are setting up a studio and will soon be recording some original music.

Right now I'm concentrating on keeping my daughter on track for college next fall. This would be easier if she didn't have hormones.
As for the things I like doing...
Motorcycles - I'm a member of www.vfrdiscussion.com and have a 2003 Honda Interceptor. I also have a 1972 Honda CB350F in a partial state of restoration.
Martial arts - Been studying tang soo do for about 19 years
Brewing - Like a couple others here I've discovered the benefits of brewing my own beer! Better than what you can buy.
I also like any kind of fishing and usually get out out into the Chesapeake a couple of times a year.
And I wouldn't call her a hobby, but my sweet lady takes up a lot of my time. Or I should say I give it to her freely.
