The lower area of my housing has an inch crack developing...is there any way of repairing this?

Find out why it cracked then clean it and JB weld it ..Thats what Id do. But others may say different

The housings sometimes have small lines of flash from the molding process, which if dirty, can look like a crack.

Wouldn't worry much if it is the housing. It's not a structural member and only guides air. The fan is a different story.

One thing you can do is to drill a small hole at each end of the crack. That''s an old aircraft trick to stop the crack from propagating. The crack probably is a little longer than you think so drill accordingy. Plug the holes with epoxy and you are good to go.
