When you are in traffic at a steady speed and lightly on-and-off the gas is the transition from coasting to light gas smooth or a little jerky (stock 2L with d-jet)? My car's done this since I bought back in 2001 and I never knew if this was normal.

Here's what I've done so far;

-replaced trans mounts with 911 sport mounts
-checked motor mounts, they appear ok, no cracks, not loose
-engine mount bar bolts are tight
-adjusted TPS per Pelican article

What else should I check? or is it normal?

What's the typical failure mode of a motor mount, split in two at the center?

I was taught not to drive my Porsche that way, but to down shift and get some revs up and let it get some RPMs. This was because of the very antiquated nature of the brain controlling the FI system and also the TPS generally is not very sensitive to easy throttle position movement.

I checked them tonight and there is no noticeable play when I try to rotate them, there is movement if I force them back and forth between the wheel and transmission, but I believe that's normal.

I try to never lug the engine, I always downshift if I'm below 2500rpms.

Well, it could be the way you drive it

I always either push it to the floor or hit the brakes, there is no in between
