Hey all,
I had a strange thing just happened. My tach just quit working "worked perfectly before". I checked to make sure the little wire from the harness is connected to the neg side of the coil and is tight on the blade connector. Unplugging of course stops the engine cold. Is there a way to test to see if a tach is kaput?

Thanks!!!!

did you check the angle drive at the tranny?
look for lube leaking.

unplugging the tach from the coil stops your engine cold? that ain't right, is it? Isn't your points / pertronix/whatever supposed to be connected alongside it??

I thought or think the little wire on the coil goes to the tach in some sort of fashion or is part of the feed. I can't read electrical diagrams for sh$t. I replaced my points for a crane unit two years ago so I know that isn't coming into play. I'm stumped blink.gif
