So I have been working on this drawing for quite some time trying to reproduce it in CAD.

I have the basic drawing done but it needs a bunch of cleanup.

One area that I need help is figuring out what the letters in the words of the title block are. My original TIFF and JPG files were not high enough resolution for me to be able to easily read the smaller words.

I can read the larger words/letters, but need some help with the smaller ones. I don't know German so it is difficult for me to guess.

I have that drawing hanging above my desk

My guesses are

The title of the bottom right block is "Z nr."

The top word in the block two above is "Werkstoff"

Scale is "Massstub" (the first two s's should be that b with a tail thing)

I think the two boxes unte the scale are "Erstaz...."

maybe :Erstaz fur" and "Erstaz durch".

Drawn by = Gezeichnet

Checker = Gepruft

Approved = Normgepruft

Date = datum but I think I see "Tag" as in day 4 up from the bottom left corner

Across the revision block I think (top right):

Nr. Ander.... Tag Gezeichnet Gepruft

I did some investigation (looking at the 550 blueprint helped some) and found a couple of words that seem to fit. I even tried using an English - German - English translator.

It does appear that Tag is used for date or day in both locations (creation and revisions/changes/modifications)

The oil tank blueprint is helping me fill in some spaces as well.



Is Name common between German and English?

Yep, just the pronunciation is different... in German it's nah-meh.

Here is as far as I'm getting with it tonight. I'm not saying that all words/letters are correct, but I'm trying.....

IIRC it would also be written "namen" in this case.

The middle word in the second line in the Top-Left box should be ohne (="without")

Also, the word "Rehmesse" or "RehmeBe" isnt right, unless this automotive drawing has something to do with deer (deer=Reh), although the word might be a form of Rahmen (=frame), But looking at the original, I almost want to say it starts with a "Pf" or "Pl".

btw - I just found a general failure, that's on the original drawing too

That would be AWESOME to be able to get it correct from a big original drawing.

So are we assuming that Rohmeße is what should be there? I don't have a clue if it is spelled correctly or what it is supposed to mean. (are you guys saying that it means "Material"?)

Maybe "Material", if not then i would say "Rohmaße" which means measurement before machining.

"Werkstoff" and "Material" means the same in German. So it makes no sens o type that double?!

I checked my copy of the plan but this part is completly unreadable.

That's why I'm asking for help deciphering it. I can't read my copy very well either. A letter here a guess there, but since I can't read, speak or spell in German, it makes it a little tricky for me. The drawing conversion is easier than the title block!

I keep plugging away at it...
