Just did a complete tune up...oil change, trans change. Now it won't start When I turn key to on, I don't hear the fuel pump. No voltage at fuel pump. (is it supposed to show 12 volts with key on?) Fuse is good. I have spark. Dizzy is slightly loose as I was going to time engine. Is there something I should be looking at between the D tronic fuel relay board and fuel pump??? Don't have a pressure gauge to show fuel pressure but I have no pressure with key on. Had distributer out and cleaned the unit and triggers. At relay board, power supply relay is good (sending to Pump relay) changed the pump relay with heater relay, still nothing. Does the pressure regulator have anything to do with the relay board sending voltage to pump???? Any Ideas????? Thanks for any help Jim 1976 2.0

Jim,
With d-jet you only get a short burst of power when you first turn the key to on. After that the pump is not turned on until the engine is turning. You can defeat this by removing the the four pin plug in the back left of the relay board and wiring pin III (front left) to ground. This is the pin that the ECU shorts to ground when it wants the pump on. Your car won't start in this state but you will be able to confirm the fuel pump operation. Remember to remove power from the coil if you are going to have the key on for any length of time without the engine running.

Pressure regulator has no effect on the electrical supply to the pump.

Since you were working on the trigger points you might want to check electrical connections there.

Well thanks for the help...there was alot of reading and my rookie head was spinning. I found an article regarding 75-76 fuel pump grounding....Ran an external ground to pump...and it started right up......I guess when installing the new fuel filter, the ground came loose or broke.....anyway...now I will pull the tank and do it right....Thanks for your help
