Porsche Rescue

In an earlier post I asked for help with brakes that would not bleed. Thought the solution might be of interest. Front calipers were the type with only one bleed screw. PO had reversed them on the front (L-R). In so doing the nipple was on the bottom. Fluid (lots of it!) flowed freely but air remained in the upper part of the calipers. Finally figured it out when I realized that the rears were OK but fronts not. Switched the front calipers from side to side, putting the nipples on the top where they should be. Brakes bled with no trouble. Now the only mystery, how did the PO bleed them?

Pulled the caliper off and turned it upside down? Didn't bleed them at all?
