Some of you probably know the company I work for, CaridianBCT (used to be GambroBCT) designs and manufactures equipment for blood collection and therapeutics (especially Scott Schroeder since he works there too... hi Scott! ). Short explanation... CaridianBCT has equipment that help people with health issues that effect their blood... it uses blood components donated by healthy individuals to replace 1 or more blood components in a sick patient, to help strengthen that sick patient prior to or following a procedure. It may also reinsert components a patient has extracted prior to a procedure, knowing those components will be damaged during the procedure (like cells damaged during chemo). CaridianBCT is also working on adult stem cell expansion equipment which is a huge deal. This walk contributes cash to a cause that's dedicated to working for cures to blood diseases.
