These are the heater valves that supply or dump the heat from the heat exchangers on the type 4 engine. The 914/6 valves are different, but similar. There are minor differences between these valves sold as replacement items in the 1980's and the original items installed by the factory. The dump cap is less angular and more rounded on the installed valves.

I guess I sold that set way too cheap.

When I put one of these side by side with a t4 VW bus heater control valve, they appear to be the same size. Only difference is the orientation, and potentially the length, of the arm. Of course this can easily be changed by drilling out the tack weld (which I've seen to break on its own), and welding the arm into the proper position.

My comparison was brief so this may not be accurate. Anyone know for sure?

Should be noted that the original, early version, did not have painted clamps. Though, who would notice the difference today, except me.
