Sweet!! LED tail lights?

That is the plan...
All the way accross for the "third" brake light.
No Porsche logo, just the plastic.

It looks like you have some creative ideas for the car, bravo! I am concerned about the amount of rust that remains on the rest of the car. Would it make any sense to get all of the remaining chassis repaired and straight before you start doing too much other remodeling?

If you spend too much time on the new stuff, and then have some warpage when you're replacing the work of the tinworm, you'll have to redo your work again. I think that it would be wise to hit the structural rust first. JMHO.
r_towle
The strucural rust is pretty minimum compared to the other cars I have done...
The roll bar and tubing will go in before any structural work anyways to ensure I retain the correct setup.
Then I can put it on the rottisierre and do the longs etc.

One of my favorite current projects. Keep working, I love seeing the progress!

Looking good Rich. I wasn't quite following you when you were describing the project. Gonna be a real cool ride.

I have a few front & rear trunk lids for you. Let me know what works for you & I will drop them up.

Have the concours guys already contacted you about this? I'm sure they have some concerns about your project.

And you do know you won't be welcome at any PCA events, right?

Cool as hell.

I was cruising through the Emory site and found this construction pic:

See how it's hinged. I wasn't sure that was something you considered, but I figured I'd share what I found.

Love the thread.

Great start Rich, I love the look of the fender so far.

What is your plan for the front? Do you plan to keep the signal bumps?

Im not really sure yet...still creating the rear.
I know that I will leave the turn signals.
I may section a few inches out of the front.
I may change the headlights...not sure yet.

I need to leave the fenders and hood as is at the front strut tops....or the hood wont fit...but after that and forward I have alot of free space and may chop it down quite a bit.
I do plan on an oil cooler setup with a ferrari/volvo p1800 type oval grill for intake...aside from that I have no ideas that are firmed up yet.

I have been very strict with myself not to look at or think about the front until the rear is all done...otherwise I will get sidetracked.

the first step up front will be the winshield I suspect...
That will require a rework of the cowl to make all of that fit.
Then I can see whats left.

A bit of the finish hammer and dolly and grinding work...

this is about the fifth time I designed the louvers....lots of peoples input on the shape....they now follow the curve of the rear of the door opening and they are a bit lower than the last three times...lol

This looks like the final set of louvers, now I get to make them....it should be a bit harder than using masking tape...

Rich, I'm a little late to the party on this, but how about making the back end of the louvers go along with the fender line? (Excuse my lame attempt at using photoshop)

And/or shorten the louvers up a bit from the bottom?
