Full Version: pivot location for rotisery?

So I have 2 engine stands that are going to be modded into a rotisery.

I seem to remember that the pivot should be above the bumper bolt line, but I don't remember how far for perfect balance.

Can you help a guy out?

Hard to see from my pictures, but my pivot is 3" above the center line of the bumper mount bolt holes. My pivot in retrospect is 1" to high and makes balance attempt to settle car in upright position. Rotates quite easy, but it's not neutral.

The most balanced rotisserie I've used...

Ignore the bracketry, remember it's not the brackets that make the balance, it's the relationship between the body and the pivot center that matters.
