I noticed that as well. In 34 years of owning a 914, I've never even realized that it would fit in backwards!

I'll have to try the next time I get out to the garage.

The skinny tires make me laugh!

Man it is remarkable how the handling changes with just a tire switch. Oh, and did you see that thing roll? That one needs a set of bars.
