I'm finally getting around to replacing the pushrod tube seals and I'm following the AA procedure using AA viton seals. Unfortunately when I try to seat the new seals by grabbing them with pliers and seating them, I need to grab the pushrod tubes with so much force that I'm denting and mutilating them in the process. It there a better way? Should I but hose clamps around them first?? Ideas?

The engine is in the car by the way...

TIA

Never had a problem seating them. I grab them with channel locks and hit the pliers in the handle area with the heel of my hand

, but ....

Use a socket with a diameter that matches the od of the tube flange and "pop" it with a light blow from a hammer.

Scented n flavored not necessary unless......

A couple of mine look rough, but unless their collapsed, a little denting will not hurt. Your not expecting any visitors there, are you. If so you could spin them around to show the best side down.
