Hey guys

anyone have a set kicking around? Now that I need a set, they have become most scarce or most uber-priced. I sold a set for $600 a few years ago (not perfect of course) but now that I need them, they are through the roof (of course)

Thanks!

Hi Seanary

Thanks for the reply.

Looking for 911 rear 8's , not 951 8's (front of a 911).

Thanks for pointing this out, probably save me some time (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

What is the difference and what is better to use on a flared 914?

depends where you want to use them. 951 8's are great on the front with 9s on the rear.

FWIW, I have a set of 7&9's that I use on my 914 (from a 930), and a set of 7&8's also, Im not sure where the 7&8's are from though.

What is the difference and what is better to use on a flared 914?

The part number of the 8" x 16" Fuchs wheels that came on a 944 started with 951. The part number of the 8" x 16" Fuchs wheels that came on a 911 started with 911 (duh!). The offset of the 951 and 911 8" rims is different. 951's have a 23.3mm offset and 911's a 10.6mm offset, i.e., the 911 wheel would stand further from the chassis.
Personally I like more the look of the 911 wheel since the center sits deeper in the rim. For usage with flares I'd think a 911 wheel would be better since it would require less spacer in the front to fill out the flare. I have 7.5" x 17" rims with 23mm offset for the front and will need a substantial spacer. In the rear you probably don't need a spacer with 911 wheels if you put a 245 series tire on.
Drawback is that 911 8" wheels are more expensive than 951's.

Hi guys

Sorry not to get back... the email thingie didn't let me know anyone replied (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

Anyhow, I found a set... a local guy had a set on ebay, and I convinced him to end the auction early if I pick them up, pay cash, etc. He agreed, and I got a SWWWWWEEEEET set of 16*7/*9 with one .5" blemish, newly mounted ZR tires, for $1300.00.

I had another deal in the works for $2200.00. Not bad (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Thanks,

DMA
