COTM – April 1 2014- Special Limited Edition for the 914World!!

Welcome to something new for the COTM contest. This special contest will be a competition for incomplete project 914s. Dream cars, competing head-to-head for an opportunity to be profiled on 914World on some page.

2014 COTM Incomplete Project Special Edition Nomination Eligibility Criteria:
1. The project is a bona fide 914 (i.e. has a official 914 VIN) but otherwise may, or may not be recognized as a 914.
2. Car is NOT currently legal for street use, but definitely will be one day.
3. Open to any engine as long as there is a suggestion it once fired up.
4. Project owner may own 4 genuine Fuchs wheels, whether they can be mounted on car is not relevant.
5. Chassis/tub may have signs of rust.
6. Owner can nominate his/her own project, and nominations need not be seconded to enter contest.

Looking for 9 nominations by 11:59AM (EST) 01 April 2014. If 9 nominations received, contest will run for a period of 0.9 days and 14 minutes. Gentlemen, look in the garage and nominate your car!

I have an incomplete project car, I don't think any of my other 914s were good enough to call a project. I've even been working on it!

yep, an incomplete limited edition. Just the story behind saving this one from the crusher is worth a nomination.

When I first read the title thats what I thought the goal was, but after reading more closely, I see that it is a limited edition of the COTM, and not just an incomplete LE.

I know it's an April fools thread, but it's a good idea. Might be the only way my car can be nominated. Let me dig up some pictures of what's going into it...since it'll probably take me a year or more to get it back together.

I think these are the first pictures on here on my project...
- 914/4 (originally a 1.7, then a 2.0 with carbs) converted to a /6
- Scotty fixed the rust, did some body mods and painted it!
- 2.7 CIS motor converted to carbs with this cool airbox
- 5-bolt hubs with Boxster brakes up front
- Setrab cooler and fans in the back to help cool, along with a new /6 oil tank
- M&K Sport exhaust hooked up to MSDS headers
- bits and parts from just about everyone on the board I've accumulated over the years.

But if I had to pick one, it would be the 914 limo for sure!!!

Much tougher than normal. Have to look over and read the info on restorations (IMG:style_emoticons/default/piratenanner.gif) .

Like it.. We're not just looking at favorites this time!

I only own 3 Fuchs...I appreciate the sentiment though. (Don't ask...they're in the basement under a tarp.)

Update: It says "Project owner MAY own 4 genuine Fuchs wheels, whether they can be mounted on car is not relevant."

Porsche built EVERY 914 in the time it's taken him to do that one. Hell, I'll have done 2...with a 6+ year hiatus in between.
