GT flares and cookie cutter wheels (7x15 with 225/50 tires), front 1 1/4" spacer, rear 1 1/2" spacer to fill out the flares nicely ... (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/driving.gif) Andy |

1 inch and 2 inch when I run the 964 wheels on the 911.
Frank runs 2.5 in the rears 1.5 up front. Havent aligned it yet but it pushes like a MOFO.... |

Invert your spacers and it will be loose as a MOFO. Track width front and back has a profound affect on handling. Wider in the rear will the front Wider in the front will slide the rear |

Spacers are for clearance issues...I don't have a choice with these wheels. Remember...we're talking LOOKS here....not performance.... (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/cool_shades.gif)
W/o spacers the inside of the wheel hits the swingarm in the rear and the inner fender wells up front... |

2'+ spacers on the rear of the 935, and 1.5" on the front, we often go wider than 2.% in the rear depending on which rubber/wheel combination we are running.
Last time I drove that car it handled ok (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/w00t.gif) |

My flared 914-6 has Fuchs (7x15 fronts and 8x15 rears) with only 1/4 inch spacers in the rear to space them out. The steering is much heavier than my other 914-6 with the stock 5.5 x15 Fuchs at low speed, but not noticable while driving. Since most of the new wheels have very much rear offset compared with the old Fuchs, you just have to space them to fill the flare. I've always wondered what some 8x17 and 9x17 Ruf wheels would look like on a flared 914, but have never found anyone who has done this (or wants to sell a set somewhat reasonably).

hi George, I didn't know you had an original /6 as well (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/smile.gif) it appears only the rear fenders have been pulled out, but those are RUF wheels (IMG:http://instant-g.com/LocalCars/Ghost/Ghostlf.jpg) |

Have to have 2, they're small. I contacted the RUF Centre in texas today, and they are going to be getting more 17 inch wheels in after about 10 years of no production. About $2800, so no bargains.
As I thought, the car looks pretty good with the Ruf wheels. Thanks for the picture. |
