OK guys I am admittedly one of the newest to the group... and damn proud of it.......Sorry it was the Texan in me sneaking out.....I just wanted to throw out some introductions for all, and start getting in the group. 'Cuz let's face it I am going to pick the collective brains for my project and give where I can. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/aktion035.gif)

The car......ah, right ........OHMIGOD is this going to a project ....it was driven into a field in Okla. somewhere and parked, some time around 1987. It has played host to a BIG family of rats over the years that has made the rewiring job a daunting task to say the least. I have definitely bitten off a mouthful on this one. I have been nicknamed the "resurrector" by my bro because of the projects I have ended up with and gotten up and running after they were deemed DOR (dead on the road). I will try to get some pics posted in a few mins. just to give everyone a reason to love their teener a bit more. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/welder.gif)

Welcome aboard!!! One bit of advice: "Don't lurk!" Actually, I don't mind lurkers as I never see them, but some people have a hay day... (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/laugh.gif)
You really need to get to know these guys. We have a great group of people. Many who know their stuff and then those like me who are just bored and ask the simple questions. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif) |

There are good tubs in Texas. I almost got one in E-bay in primer for $500. That is way to go if you can find one...

Restore it to the original blue, it appears to be L50E Adriatic Blue, very nice.
I wouldn't worry so much about the floor and longs. What does the hell-hole look like. The whole area under the battery tray is the critical part, especially the inner suspension pickup. If that is okay, the rest is (almost) a piece of cake. |

I think she'll live again........there's no sag to her even with the top off, the windows up and my # 210 in the car one either side. The doors still swing open and closed with no drag, so I think she has a pretty strong spine. The battery tray is going to go and the froward well. .......It'll take some welding but I think she'll survive it.
