First, my father passes away on the 9th, then I get a phone call today from my best friends wife. Many of you know him as Joe Buckle, the BBQ master of the So Cal contingent, he is in the hospital tonight and they may admit him. I just got home from there, he is awake and says he is fine but his heart monitor says otherwise. The doctor says he is A-Fib, I am not sure what it means but I do know, it is not a good thing. We need the power of Prayer again from all of you as I dont think I could take another loss in my life this close to my father passing. For those who dont know him, he is one of those kinds of people that is rare in todays world, He is a great father of two beautiful girls, has been blessed with a wonderful and understanding wife and is the type of guy who you would be proud to call your friend. I will be going back over there tomorrow to check on him and will post up any information I get afterwords.

My prayer? Dear God, please dont take my friend.

Also, say a prayer for his wife too, I got to the hospital to see her wearing a heart monitor also. She is having some sort of problem with her ticker too. They need each other and thier kids need them both also.

Scott

A-fib is atrial fibrillation. It is a rapid disorganizied contraction of the smaller chambers of the heart. There are many causes. Joe will be fine although he may have to change things a little. I read that as many as 2 million people have some form of a-fib. My mom lived 30 years with a form of it before she had a day surgery to eliminate it.

Wait for a diagnosis, then be around for him and support him because he may need new meds, and change his lifestyle a bit. All of that can be kind of depressing. On top of that, this scares people and sometimes they get depressed or want to withdraw because they just don't know when they'll "flip".

Most people just go on with a normal life.

Still I'll be praying for Joe.

You know, I have a friend who is doing Chemotherapy now and she is struggling. A while ago I asked someone, what ever happened to the days when the worst thing that could happen would be someone was pregnant.

We grew up when we were not watching and now we have grown up problems...

I don't want to loose my friend either. I know how scary that is every day.

Remember, every day is a gift and nobody ever said on thier death bed, "gee, I wish I had worked more".

Love each other today, in fact, love each other right now.

A-fib is not that bad, they will hook him up with some meds, and it will all be good, the wife is just stressing over the husband. True about nobody ever saying I wish I had worked more. Had an elderly patient tell me that you don't regret the things you have done, jus the things you have not done, go play with your kids

Positive thoughts from the Pacific Northwest!

Not a good week. My 75 year old mother fell at home and dislocated her shoulder this last Sunday). She fainted for some reason. TIA is the medical term. She should be out of the hospital in a day or two.

Events like these make other clitches (like the engine in my teener going Ka-Blammo! - also on Sunday) seem pretty trivial.

Best wishes to Joe and his family!

Eddie

I'm saying a prayer for all connected to this list. We need some positive energy and extra prayer to stop this tide of negitive stuff. God is watching over all of us. Lets send him some love and God will return the love.

Peace and prayer to all.
