The point of this thread is to hear all voices.
Most of you have your favorite marques. I used to, until I experimented. So, what do you/your loving other drive to work? I appreciate those who drive 914's every day, but most of can't, for various reasons. What I'd be curious to know, besides what you drive daily, is - did you but it or lease it? Would you buy one? (since leasing seems to be becoming a lost item). Why do you drive what you drive? Would you buy one again? Do you like it? Hate it? Just curious. Pat |

My DD is the Jetta TDi my wife DOESN'T take to work. We have 2, one sedan, one Avant. First out of the door gets to pick which one they drive. For haulin' and towin', the Vanagons (one stick, one auto) work exceedingly well. You can get A LOT of Porsche parts in them, making swapmeet trips a pleasure. For fun, the '65 911 is just the thing. We took it on a 2K mile trip for our honeymoon. It used to be my DD, but I had to remove the glass to deal with some rust, and you know the routine ........... We're refinishing the rosewood dash fascia, and I'm gonna redo the sun-trashed dash top. The 250K Audi A6 Avant carries my younger son and his RE clients around, and I just sold the 300K 90 20v Quattro because I didn't drive it much anymore. Original clutch, BTW, and no sign it's gonna give up anytime soon ..........
