I'm noticing that 914 owners also seem to own or have owned BMW's too. I'm wondering if this is an indicator of future 914 or BMW owners. Or it could just indicate that we just have a higher automotive pain threshold.

I've only owned German cars with one exception. In order of acquisition:
1970 VW Squareback 1972 VW Squareback 1977 BMW 320i 1994 VW Jetta III 1994 Toyota truck 1974 Porsche 914 2L - silver 1974 Porsche 914 2L - white The Toyota truck came from my sister and was a great deal. 4 years later it's still pretty much worth what I paid for it. The Jetta should be replaced in the next 5 years but it could probably last much much longer. More than anything I'm bored with it but it's hard to justify spending $10-30K on a newer car when it runs fantastic. I think I'd rather keep the Jetta as a daily driver and put my money into a 914-6 or 993 next. |
