hi does anybody know if this setup works. i have read that people are using the 944 axle and stubs on their cars. does the 944 axle stub, the male end that goes into the trailing arm and hub fit( meaning the same splines and bearing clearances) as on the 914/4 hubs. i know alot of people have used the early 911 hubs but i just want to know if the 944 axle stubs fit the 914/4 hubs thanks

I run custom axles using 944 parts.
However, you can't use the 944 axle shaft and i didn't use the 944 stub axles either. I ended up machining my 914/4 axle shafts to accept 944 CV joints on both ends which in turn bolted to 911 stub axles and 911 output shafts.
