I have been working my tail off and saving money to build my 2litre motor this summer, so far i have saved $2500, If should have another $1500 in a month or so. However, I have been seeing 2.7-6 and 2.4-6 on ebay, the recycler and other places from $850.00 - $4000.

My question is - is it worth upgrading to a 2 litre from my 1.7, when a couple of thousand dollars more, i could get a six? And what is involved (price wise) to convert it from a 4 to a six.

Give me some feedback -

I have heard of some issues with the PMO's in race applications, but I am not familiar enough to describe the technical details. I would bet that anything that has/does come up is just teething pains that Richard will deal with agressively. They are very pretty units and certainly fill a need in the market.

Keep in mind that even the nicest triple-throat Webers you''ll find are still about 30 years old and there can be lots of rehab needed with the bushings, banjo fittings, etc. Fortunately there are several shops, including PMO, who also still support Webers with spare parts and repair services. This is a good thing...cuz I have Webers...
