Hi guys,
I just saw the postings on recent trip from 66 route and it was mentioned that there are few joined the event with 4 cylinder engine. My question is, how reliable is it for a long drive/trip with just a stock set up engine without modification in the cooling system? Or does it need modification in the cooling system and what are those items? My car is a 1975 1.8 FI. Thank you and God Bless! http://www.914world.com/bbs2/uploads/post-...92529_thumb.jpg |

All of your favorite on-line Porsche retailers carry them. My fave (for obvious reasons) is Pelican Parts. See my sig for the website.
My oil cooler install thread: http://www.914world.com/bbs2/index.php?showtopic=189603 The best location for the cooler is in the front trunk, with ducting to the cooler, sealing around the cooler to the ducting, and ducting out of the car. My install is a very significant compromise, but I didn't want to run lines up front nor cut my trunk. It is far from an optimal setup, but it seems to work. You can probably get similar results using a smaller cooler if you mount it vertically so it gets better air flow. Not sure, really. --DD |
