I’ve done some research into what Paul Anders detailed in the Djet system. From his notes on the 0 280 130 003 and 0 280 130 012 versions of this part he mentioned “012 sensor is in short supply. Either sensor should work OK.” Looks like the curves are actually within 1.5% for the adjustability mixture control. that's on the rich side (of the 003 sensor) or about .5% of the final mixture (as it's about 30%). I’ve checked the resistance curve on these and found them to be within 5%. As the fuel control is only adjustable by about 30% it would mean that the potential error would be about 1.5% too rich for a very cold start (about freezing) . the curve closes the warmer it gets. For those that want to know the actual parts breakdown it goes like this – 70-73 - 1.7 sensor is the 0 280 130 003 74—76 – 2.0 sensor is the 0 280 130 012 73 2.0 used 0 280 130 017 but added a ballast resistor to compensate for the difference in the curve it had. Making it very similar to the 0 280 130 012, but will be richer on warm side and leaner when cold. So the only thing I can possibly see a problem with is the 73 set up with the resistor present. If this applies to you, it’s possible the curve may be off some. If this is noticeable I can’t say for sure until I have feedback. Just to note – Do not run ballast with my part with the ballast or wit will just be way too rich. You will note that the attachment wire protection has been beefed up a little more than the OEM. This is because the wire on the stock part was known to break. I have been told the 73 ECU will work as long as the ballast is not used. Thanks Mark |
