I was just thinking of all the Air cooled VWs that I had. I started with my first car a 1958 VW Bug that I bought in 1968. $75. And a real piece of shit but my first car.
I went on to having more new VW Bugs and Campers in my life and got started with VW –Porsche 914 in 1978. Always loved the VW air cooled product and also enjoyed a new Rabbit Pick Up in 1981 Bob B |

In the 80's
69 or 70 Type 3 wagon ( probably 2, at least one was full auto trans ) 71 ish Type 3 fastback 66 ish Type 3 wagon ( swing axle from what I recall ? ) 72 Type 3 wagon 74 412 wagon ( the pinnacle of air cooled development, too bad they rusted horribly ) 1970 bus with sun roof ( Don't remember if bench front seat or walk through ) 1970 bus no sun roof ( front seat was the opposite of the sun roof bus ) 1970 Camper with pop up roof All were runners, some were fix and sell, others driven 'til rusted away. The mid 90's brought on a rusted no drive line 72 914 and a rusted in half 914 parts car, these were mixed together to make a running driving car. Later came a 73 parts car and a 74 that looks to be a 2.0 LE black / yellow that got repainted blue after a light front hit, it has most of LE the stuff, I just never ran the VIN ( this is a non rusted car from sunny skies. ) |
