Hello, my mechanic rescued —what appears to be— a 914-6 muffler from an early pristine 911s. The 911s owner had no idea it was a 914-6 muffler (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

The owner wants to sell the muffler for a fair price but has no idea what that is.

I took two pictures.

Note: I have no skin in the game past wanting it to go to a good home.

looks exactly like an aftermarket muffler i b'ot new at Automotion yrs back

how do you know it's a 914/6 muffler and not a 911 aftermarket item?

fwiw - i sold a good used 911 mufler for $200 awhile back; shipping is no small consideration for these & Bursch's

This is what my friend mentioned was the difference.

I’ll get a shot of the serial number and other markings on Monday.
