We have one horn but the other is dead. We cannot tell the HZ of the existing horn, so we would like to buy a matching pair.
Thanks! |

We have one horn but the other is dead. We cannot tell the HZ of the existing horn, so we would like to buy a matching pair. Thanks! I have a small bucket of tested horns. Half were dead. I have heard they can be repaired but I have not tried it. The HZ is usually heat stamped into the plastic base. 300 and 335 hz is I remember correctly. Not sure it makes a big deal. I think some late cars only had one horn. The earliest horns has screw on front covers. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/agree.gif) I as well have a fair sized box of horns. 3 types Ive found on the cars over the years. The combination of the differing Hz horns make up the LOUD noise desired. On the back is a nut that is usually covered in potting material that is used to "tune" the horn to a specific frequency Either 335 or 400. So if you can only find the same (working) HZ horn as you have, you can adjust it. Attached image(s) |

So if you can only find the same (working) HZ horn as you have, you can adjust it. Those are 70-74 style horns. The 75-76 style mount under the front pan have "horn" that faces forward like these. Not saying the older style won't work, but if you are going for original look then those are not correct. Attached image(s) |
