All,

I installed HELLA 9004 100/80WTB bulbs into my new Hella Glass housings. Rebuilt the headlamp system to perfection starting with all assemblies, wiring, relays (high Amp relays as well for the headlights).

My challenge is the 100/80 bulbs are not bright enough........ (IMG:style_emoticons/default/chair.gif)

I have enough current available at the lamps to power near anything (12 gauge from the fuse panel with a 30amp fuse).

What would you suggest as a next step?

Thank you,
CTC911CTC

Proper aim for e-code headlights is absolutely critical. Good info at Daniels Stern's page, here: https://www.danielsternlighting.com/tech/aim/aim.html

Even when properly aimed, beam pattern varies widely from one brand to another. Check out the diagrams from another Daniel Stern lighting page here:

https://dastern.torque.net/Photometry/isocomparo.html

I started with Hella and wasn't happy with them, so I went to Cibie. Finally found a set of NOS Marchal a few years back. Amazing difference, even with the standard H4 bulbs.

If you can't get the H4s to meet your needs, then I'd go to an LED replacement unit like the GE Nighthawk #69821.

IIRC, a few folks here on the 914world have them and seem to be happy.

Hope this helps!
