It’s probably noted somewhere, but what Porsche parts are missing from a 72 six besides the VW steering column and ignition switch?

Great question.
Right off the bat I'd say you loose three speed wipers and windshield squirter pump.
That's based on the steering column switches and water bottle.

The 72 914-6 is what I like to refer to as a "Factory Conversion". They started with a complete /4 chassis, and put 914-6 suspension, brakes, wheels, engine and trans, etc.. under it. They even made a short adapter harness to hook the /6 relay board to the /4 wiring harness.

But it is a real six, built by the factory.
