I recently got a Quickjack 7000 TLX. I need the long X model to reach the jack points on my other vehicles. But I have failed to lift the 914.
My first attempt had the Quickjacks in the "official" positions, i.e. with the lower base pivots forward. Note this is not what I consider safe for 911s and probably for 914s, since the car center of gravity can end up outside (behind) the end of the lower base. Attached thumbnail(s) ![]() |

In my workshop, i have a two post maxjax. I was able to use the existing concrete floor (4”) and to be sure, I used epoxy anchors. It will only get 914’s and early 912’s so I’m very confident in the lift safety. In our barn/shop, the concrete was thin in spots so it was cut and new high strength mix was poured to a 10” depth with rebar. I could do the math but I’m sure it’s a couple thousand pounds. We can put a heavy car on it and there’s no post deflection at full lift. It’s a commercial unit that needs 12’+ of ceiling space. I did a maxjax in my workshop because I only have 8.5’. My maxjax is the newer model but I got it before the 50% price increase.
I recently saw a website advertising tool chests for crazy cheap prices. Of course it was a scam site. Lots of cut, paste and steal cc info going on. I’m guessing it all is being done overseas. Sell your credit card info as soon as you enter it and let the banks try to chase them to get it back. |
