Out comes the tranny. WEVO shift parts are on the way.
I can't believe how dirty it is back there from the 2000 mile WCC trip. I'll have to get in there with some soap and a brush. Attached image(s)

The track day found the weaknesses in several trannies it seems. The funky noise when I pulled off the track after lunch was indeed a mid plate bearing. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/headbang.gif) It didn't spin in the case again until I left Sean & Susie, Slits and Toast at the junction with I 15. Once I got up to trafffic speed (80 ish) it howled all the way home.
So I have reinvigorated the "curse of Mueller"... back up on da jack stands!!! 901s really weren't made to take much power on the original innards. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/sad.gif) oh well....needed an LSD anyway. |
